Red Alert Labs Launches Smart Contract Evaluation Methodology in Collaboration with IPSProtocol

· Company News and Press Releases

Smart Contracts are revolutionizing industries from finance to supply chains, but they also introduce unprecedented security risks. In 2024 alone, vulnerabilities in Smart Contracts accounted for billions in losses worldwide, often due to coding flaws that could have been caught earlier with proper evaluation.

To tackle this, Red Alert Labs, in partnership with IPSProtocol and Campus Cyber, has developed and published the first CSPN (Certification de Sécurité de Premier Niveau) methodology dedicated to Smart Contracts. This initiative provides organizations with a practical, standardized framework for assessing and certifying Smart Contract security.

Why This Breakthrough Matters

For too long, Smart Contract audits have varied in depth and rigor, leaving developers and regulators with inconsistent results. Our new methodology changes that by:

🔹 Mapping threat models and attack vectors specific to Smart Contracts.
🔹 Defining a step-by-step evaluation process aligned with CSPN certification requirements.
🔹 Embedding best practices for fuzzing, static analysis, and resilience testing.
🔹 Offering a clear pathway to certification, bridging the gap between blockchain innovation and regulatory expectations.

This isn’t just about checking boxes - it’s about making blockchain adoption safer and more scalable across industries.

Launch at Campus Cyber DEMO DAY

The methodology was officially presented on January 31, 2025, during DEMO DAY at Campus Cyber. Paul Gedeon, IoT Security Evaluator & Blockchain Manager at Red Alert Labs, shared insights in a roundtable with leading voices from Campus Cyber, IPSProtocol, ACPR, FuzzingLabs, and Banque de France.

Red Alert Labs’ Role in Blockchain Security

As an EUCC-accredited cybersecurity lab, Red Alert Labs brings deep expertise in IoT and digital product security to the blockchain ecosystem. Our role in this initiative is clear:

  • Translate regulation into practice, ensuring CSPN requirements are usable for blockchain developers.
  • Unify fragmented evaluation practices, creating a trusted standard.
  • Support industry adoption with actionable, lab-tested methods.

A Collaborative Achievement

We are proud to have worked alongside exceptional partners and contributors from across the ecosystem, including ANSSI, ACPR, Banque de France, Groupe BPCE, Ledger, FuzzingLabs, Set In Stone, IPSProtocol, Campus Cyber, and many more. Their insights were crucial in making this methodology both rigorous and practical.

What’s Next

This methodology is only the beginning. Red Alert Labs will continue working with regulators, researchers, and industry leaders to pilot real-world assessments and help organizations embed Smart Contract certification into their security and compliance strategies.

Explore the full methodology and findings via Campus Cyber - and contact Red Alert Labs to see how certification can strengthen your blockchain innovation.
